REVIEW

Narration

Finally, I am reviewing the first book I read in 2020. The Fragile Thread of Hope is a poignant and gritty tale of love, loss, death and grief that leaves you empty but the hope to hang from. The book is well-written with multiple third-person POVs which follow characters ─ Fiona, Soham, Sharon. The writing style is flowery and polished, you just keep reading until you choke off mid-sentence, left with moisty eyes. Also, the author Pankaj Giri has structured it brilliantly, providing the right scenes at the right times to make you sympathize with his characters.

Location and Setting

The Fragile Thread of Hope is set in Gangtok, Sikkim. The place so intimidating amidst the overwhelming views of mountains, rivers, streams and forests. Book also explores the megacity Bangalore, the ‘Silicon Valley of India’ where the author has portrayed the lifestyle of an IT worker which also reflected sort of bad workplace culture in this highly competitive corporate world.

Theme

The main theme of this book can be described as coping with the grief that you hold on to just because you fear to let it go. Apart from this, there are a lot of things Pankaj Giri has very successfully conveyed through his venerable characters like Father Francis and a Spiritual Master. All the characters in this book are perfectly written, they are exhaustive and hence sympathetic. Pankaj Giri has strongly put forward the concept of spirituality and a sensitive topic that is rarely discussed ─ religious conversion. Here he has elaborated the faith in Christianity with culture and customs. While talking about the culture, I should not forget about the significance represented here of Pahari Culture, some of which are accumulated from Nepali Culture.

Plot

I would be better off without talking much about the plot. Anyways, the plot will show you around the deep dark places lingering in your life that can strike hard anytime. It confronts you to the reality called Death and much darker feeling of grief which can only be overcome by Love.

Perhaps, this is what defines flawed people like me. Although tragedy moulds us, teaching us bitter lessons, traces of our typical faults linger in our souls, like ugly craters in the moon.

My Opinion

Well, what should I say about this incredible piece of literature? Let me provide you an excuse to read this book ─ there is no drama at all! I would suggest, grab a copy of this book if you want to read something intensively sentimental. It will change your perspectives. You’ll start to love your parents more. You will learn. Author Pankaj Giri has done a commendable job of extracting all the emotions out of readers. I loved this book and I highly recommend this book to anyone reading this right now.

Happy Reading!

A Thank You Speech for receiving Life-Time Achievement Award

I HAD A DREAM

A very good evening to everyone!

Firstly, thank you, God, for making me worthy of this award. I dedicate this to my parents and my loved ones for I cannot be grateful enough. Thank you to all jury members for giving such prestigious award, I am truly obliged for this great honor. Thanks to my diligent team for working day and night before every album-launch that I could hold this award firmly on behalf of you all team members. Thanks to you, my audience for I am who I am because of you. You all had been an inevitable part of this journey to make my dream come true.

Yes. Certainly, I had a dream! I learned playing piano from my mother at the age of six. I loved to hear her play it everyday, she would take me to another world. I always dreamt of being like her, enrapturing everyone with her talent. She left this world very soon in my late childhood. Then, I knew how to play piano but never thought of it as a talent. Years passed by and I lived with one thought that I could never do better. When I was struggling in my teenage, my father reminded me of that dream. He used to quote Benjamin Franklin ─ ‘Hide not your talents, they for use were made, what’s a sundial in the shade?’ He believed in my talent when no one could see it. He encouraged me to carry on the legacy and fulfill my dream and said ‘You will do the best you can, with the talent you have.’ From that day until now, I’ve lived my dream of playing piano everyday, be it a concert-hall or be it my home, I never missed a day.

I wish they were here today to see me accepting this award. Mum. Dad. If you are listening to me, I love you.

Having a dream is vital to be alive in the sea of humanity. The tough task is to believe in them and keeping them alive with you. I had a mad dream of composing such music that would change my world and I didn’t give up. It just takes a smile to fight against all odds. I would thank myself for not losing hope when it was most likely for me to give up. In the future, I would count on every opportunity that would make myself better at what I do.

Once again, thanks to everyone, I am so grateful to have you all. Please, forgive me if I forgot to mention you. Thank you!

Have a nice time!

Maybe. She was going to die few hours from then. What Delphia and Gale were supposed to do? Probably. Rescue them. How they were supposed to rescue the sisters? Maybe they would have informed the family about forthcoming deaths? That would’ve definitely freaked them out, the whole time travel stuff. They might have not intrigued Villans or even shown themselves.

5 Things you need to do YOURSELF

Hey There, Welcome to my blog. Thank you for coming. And let's get straight into it.

This time we're going to discuss 5 things that you should do yourself. In our early stages we learn to speak, walk, write and what not! But that all time we got our parents always by our sides. Now when we are at adolescence stage of our life we get to learn things on our own. When we are adult (SURPRISE!) then we have to manage our life ourselves. Isn't it?

Here is list of 5 things you necessarily should take in charge of.

1. Cook your food

Of course not every meal you gonna eat. Because we've got excuse that "I got a full day job" or "I got a business to run". You may be busy whole day but when you are hungry and not so "busy" do you cook for yourself or ask someone else to cook for you? Yes, some of you do and some doesn't. Who does not, Why don't you control your hunger and cook your food rather yelling "I AM FEELING HUNGRY". Or you don't know HOW TO. So, here's a tip there are lots of YouTube videos to get started. And Thanks to Maggi we don't fear of kitchen anymore. LOL!

Make your own food

While you can do it better for yourself then why to bother someone else. Do not panic because it's not so hard thing to do. Just dare to do. Cooking have it's own pros:
  • It helps in Social Emotional Development.
  • You get confidence in your skills and abilities.
  • It develops pride.
  • Encourages independence.
So, next time you're hungry don't yell. Just do it. Be self-dependent.

2. Make most of decisions of your life

Now if you know how to cook then take responsibility of your life. You have to make most of the choices in your life to control it yourself. If you give the remote of your life to someone else you will regret to make that choice. Either it is career or doing major in college. You may take advice from elders, mentors or even friends but final choice is yours. Don't make decisions in influence of others.

Ask yourself what you want to do. What interests you. Listen to yourself and make decision. Choose your career carefully that you don't get bored of very soon. Do major in what interests you not because that got more or less scope. Even if it's marriage or relationships, Trust yourself. Be aware what you want from your life. Once, check if it fits in with your dreams and ambitions. You will do better.

Take your time. Because no one else gonna fix the mess in your life.

Choices
Make a right choie

3. Do your work

You must be thinking if it's your work then you only gonna do it. Exactly. Don't rely on others for your work. It can be anything like your projects, assignments, responding to your emails, making calls, evaluating answer sheets (LOL, that depends😜).

Well those were the tasks you always do yourself. But managing your finance, managing household expenses, even taking care of your child. Never rely on others for such matters. It's always good to take help of others but don't just throw it on others.

We all know that one proverb Jiska kaam usiko saaje. So, well also let others do their work. And don't hesitate to ask for help and do help as well.

4. Push yourself

Push yourself before someone else push you to the ground. Wake up! get off your bed and start your day. Plan your week. Plan your day. Plan for what you want to achieve in next two years. Plan according to your dreams. Aim high and get yourself to work towards it.

Checklist
Make checklist for your convenience

It's great to maintain morning routine. Just do it. Get out yourself from the comfort zone. When you think you achieved the goal, take one more step forward, set a new goal. Push your limits. Hustle harder. Try and try and try when you still have time.

5. Love yourself

Yes, Be in love with yourself. When you achieve something great, applaud for yourself. When you get depressed hug yourself. Trust yourself over anyone in this world. Don't let yourself feel down. Keep yourself happy.

Apart from that all, you would not want to see your love unhealthy. So, maintain your health. Do yoga, exercise and meditation. Keep your body fit. Celebrate little happy moments. Reward yourself occasionally (Not for winning in PUBG).

Love Yourself
Be in Love

Wizard's Guide to Magical World

Hey There! Thanks for coming to my blog. This is my first ever post. So, Finally I'm here for you guys. I hope to help you through my posts. I'm not a writer but I'll assure to inspire you. Without further ado let's get into my #firstpost.

This post is consisting of 10 points. These 10 points are all important in our day-to-day life and also to be a successful personality. That will make your world even better and magical. This post is inspired by Miss World (Priyanka Chopra). First few points are so basic that you would think are not something to learn at this age. Yes, you're right and there's no age to learn. These are very essential magical words that you gonna always keep in mind.

1. Please

If you are in need of something ask for it with politeness. This word is so powerful that it can change people's mind. So, Next time if you need extra cheese in your pizza say please while you ask!

2. Sorry

We are human beings that tends to often mistakes. That can be small or can be much bigger to apologize. Say you made a little mistake that you don't even realize though say "sorry" whether you feel it or not. It always makes positive impact.

3. Thank You

Always show your gratitude towards everyone who spent even a second for you. Show that you are grateful for having them or having to help you.

Thank You

Let's move to Gestures

4. Stand up when someone else Stands

If you are working for an organization or any company, there would be so many meetings with clients or can be with your boss. Even in daily life we attempt lots of meetings, with our relatives, our mentors or it can be an interview with a celebrity! Stand up when they stand to show respect and to thank them for their presence and tell them that it meant something to have a word.

5. Shake Hands

I discovered the oldest reason of shaking hands. It goes like this: "This indicates that you meet in peace, not while holding weapon." Peace. Even now it assures peace. Shaking hands makes people feel comfortable. It'll show that you're friendly and also exchanges warmness.

6. Smile Always

Let's be real. Not me nor you likes angry or crying faces. Plus smiles have their own abilities to make things look better and actually making an impact. It elevates our mood and also the mood of people who see you smiling. Helps our health too. So, when someone's sad or angry try to smile and make them smile too.

7. Listen

Communication is precious. Any problems can be solved by having conversation. Listening is the important part of the conversation. So, Listen Carefully.
  • Better not argue always. First listen carefully and then react.
  • Always listen to people because you're not someone who knows everything.
There are two different perspectives I used for Listen 1. While conversation. 2. Actually agreeing and acting according to what you heard.

Now, Some Magical Mantras

8. Be yourself

Don't fake. Be yourself. That gonna help you build your unique personality and help you through making easy decisions. You will always find better YOU. Otherwise it'll be complicated for you and people around you. So, Don't try to impress one by faking yourself.
PS: But when it comes to your skills, Fake it till you make it.

9. Be nice to people

Always be nice cause NO one wants to be with an ASSHOLE. If you will be nice they gonna like you. Be nice to everyone because they can be on your way DOWN.

10. Avoid Haters/Hatred

It's a cliche phrase but anyways I'm gonna use it. HATERS GONNA HATE. Always surround yourself with peace and love. This gonna motivate you and fill you with positivity. Don't waste your time on haters they are just jealous of you.
