REVIEW
Narration
Together Forever To Never is a story of love, loss and
everything in between. The story is narrated in a third-person point of view
focusing on the main character Samar. The book is divided in six sections.
Author has added beautiful poetry at a few instances which are the best parts of
the book I found. The writing style is very simple, hence really easy read.
Time Period and Location
The book sets in 2015 and the following years. The story
starts with the flashback of Samar who has lost his love forever. Most of the
book revolves around two cities Gurgaon and Jaipur. Samar lives in Gurgaon and
Sariyanka, whom he believes as his other half, lives in Jaipur. Through their
professional connection, they come to know each other and share their feelings.
Samar frequently travels to US, also Paris plays a tiny part in the story.
Theme
Together Forever To Never is a romance-themed book. The book
depicts a ten-year-old pure relationship. When Samar is left alone, he finds
love again. Author described that how Samar falls in love again and the highs
and lows of this relationship. From little sensual details to the everyday
communication between Samar and Sariyanka is described as the process of
falling in love deeper. Author has written this book for a very meaningful
insight on the meaning of success.
Plot and My Views
Talking about the plot, I think sharing anything about the
plot would be a spoiler, but here we go. As I mentioned before, the story
starts with the flashback of ten-year relationship of Samar and Monali. After
those ten years, everything falls apart and Samar is left alone with his son,
Aman. After recovering from the depression, he meets Sariyanka. They get along
very easily and fall in love. Then the story unfolds with ups and downs in
their relationship. Samar finds that there is something amiss and Sariyanka
complains that Samar always doubts on her. This lead to the climax of the story
where the very message of the whole story is hidden.
The first section of book is the best part according to me.
It is as fast paced as it is beautiful. The poetry is amazing and something I
would remember till a long time. Also, I share the same birthdate as Aman.
Cheers! Author has elaborated five principles of human spirituality which he
learned during recovery from his loss of love and for fighting against
depression, which is worth reading.
Moving to the other sections, second part is a turning point
when Samar finds love again and other three sections describe how they met,
how they fell for each other and how they made promises. And the problems they
face for being with each other.
The bad part of the book: The narration is focused on Samar
and author narrates the sentimental states of his life, although it doesn’t feel
complete. Why? Because, when Samar loses his love, Aman also lost his mother.
Father-Son are left alone, although author has completely evaded most important
part of Samar’s life – Aman, as any other characters in the book. The story
gets boring and slow in fourth section, not that it was unnecessary but story
didn’t hold its uniqueness that it could have held if only there was more to the story other than just a relation between just two characters. No
depth to any other characters. (Also, I think author has something for all the
dates he mentioned in the book.)
Despite all this, the last two sections of the book gives
the real account of the emotions, relationship, love and deceit. Shows the
reality of right-now situations of any other love story developing on the
earth. That some of us are ready to love selflessly and some are always looking
for better, adding to that, some uses the other for getting a rise in career.
Satish believes that success
cannot be measured in terms of wealth or titles. The true measure of success is
happiness that one is able to achieve in life.
Satish Goyal has successfully depicted what he believes and
the glass full of emotions for the unrequited love Samar experienced. Sometimes,
it is best to move on because once broken glass cannot be repaired to its
original form same as trust. These days loyalty and selflessness is tough to
find in a relationship where the individuals are looking forward to their own
benefits which become analogy to an individual working in an organization only
for his/her own benefits.
I would recommend this to youth and the teenagers who are
looking for love story. Sometimes it is better to move on and understand that it happens exactly the way it
must and will end when it had to and the way it should.
All in all, it was a light, quick read having something to
tell you and I got to learn a few things from this book.
Happy reading!
